I knew Makenzie was getting close to having her calf the night before.
After days of rain, we had a brief sun break. So I wandered down to the old orchard to visit the yaks. They were having a fine time in the mud.
Just as we were celebrating the green grass and emerging flowers of spring, snow reminded us that winter is not done with us yet.

We say our yaks are outdoors year-round, but our farm does have some old outbuildings.
Leona had a quick, easy birth and delivered this beautiful heifer. We’ve named her Paisley.
